Agnes & June (Rehearsed Reading) - Director & Dramaturg
The Southwark Playhouse
March 30 2026
by Olivia Spenard
Early morning. Hotel room on a southern border off some American highway. June is pregnant (Agnes is not). No one knows they’re there, and the appointment is a few hours away. Agnes has a secret (so does June).
Agnes and June is a new play about the glory and heartbreak of female friendship, first love, religious inheritance, motherhood, and grilled cheese. With tender honesty, the play chronicles the lies we tell ourselves and our unabashed humanness in the face of decisions thrust upon us.
Written by Olivia Spenard
